建湖县航运公司是建湖县最大的一家运输企业,拥有13个船队,其中11个为钢质队、2个水泥队,与社会联营船队13个,挂机船113艘,总运量为45004吨,现有在职职工1485人,在该县交通系统占据着半壁江山。一度时期全省水运企业中榜上有名,更是全县交通系统的“顶梁柱”。近几年来,由于水运市场不景气,加上管理不善,企业经营机制缺乏活力,致使生产严重滑坡。今年4月初,建湖县交通局党委成立了由局党委书记、局长李如云挂帅的航运公司改革指导小组。小组成员分头深入基层,开展调查研究,广泛听取意见;又相继召开局离退休老干部
