在中国西洋乐的学院派音乐教育中,可以说分两大派系:一个是欧美派、一个是苏俄派。在前苏联的众多音乐学院中,莫斯科音乐学院是最耀眼的一颗明星。莫斯科音乐学院创建于1886年。创建初期,柴科夫斯基曾在此任教,故也称“柴科夫斯基音乐学院”。在这座神圣的音乐殿堂里,曾走出过许多蜚声世界的音乐大师,如作曲家拉赫马尼诺夫、斯克里亚宾;钢琴家里赫杰尔、吉列尔斯;小提琴家奥伊斯拉赫;大提琴家罗斯特罗波维奇等。目前,有许多世界一流的音乐家及音乐教育家在此任教:如多林斯基、梅尔吉诺夫、贺林尼科夫、那乌莫夫、特列基亚科夫、巴士美特等,他们均在世界范围内享有崇高的声誉。
