1998年3月25日凌晨4时30分左右,位于迎宾路75号的长沙国际电子大厦突然起火。4时38分,市消防支队119火警指挥中心接到报警电话后,先后调动五个中队,十二台各式消防车,100多名消防官兵赶赴火场扑救。增援力量的三台大功率消防车充分发挥其威力大、射程远的优势很快压住了火势的蔓延。专勤大队官兵,利用先进破拆器材破门深入大楼强功火势。由于措施得当,5时30分许大火被成功扑灭,保住了三楼以上楼层。
