The earliest magnetic anomaly in the United States and its adjacent areas has been published as a public document by the United States Geological Survey. The US color geomagnetic map is also under preparation and we expect the map to come out before the fall of this year’s SEG annual meeting. Magnetic anomalies maps across the United States and offshore are compiled with the concerted efforts of U.S.G.S and SEG (Hinze, 1976). The figure is colored and published in two volumes. The magnetic anomaly contour spacing on the graph is 100 and 200 Gamma, with a scale of 1: 2.5 million based on regional projections such as Albers. This one
