苏洵散文博彩众长,融会贯通,有着自己恣肆奔放的独特风格。文中作为父亲的苏洵通过给两个儿子命名,不但表现了父亲的良苦用心,而且显示了苏洵对二子前途的准确预见,体现了长辈对晚辈的殷切告诫与激励。《名二子说》引譬设喻,婉而成章,格调新颖,不落俗套,寓庄于谐,妙趣横生,别具艺术魅力。不但体现了宋代散文平易流畅,“自然成文”的特色,也代表了苏洵杂说一类文章的婉转曲折、幽默风趣的风格。
