Some places are not too far away, but they are very active. One of them is Semporna of Malaysia. In the early summer of June, I took two planes and made another one-hour car to arrive. The purpose of my visit is to depart every day from Semporna Wharf and take an hour or so of the Clippers to shuttle across various islands and fishing villages to visit the Ba Yao ethnic group known as the “Sea Gypsies.” Baja is a minority living in the waters of the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. No country, no identity, no schools, hospitals and supermarkets
