人类社会自从产生了教育,“课程”思想就随之应运而生。关于“课程”思想的渊源可以追溯到遥远的古希腊时代。那时的教学内容中的“七艺”(语法、修辞、逻辑、算术、几何、天文、音乐),实际上就是一种对课程的安排。中国古时的“六艺”(礼、乐、射、御、书、数)及孔子整理的《诗》、《书》、《礼》、《乐》、《易》、《春秋》也是一种关于课程内容的划分思想。但是,把“课程”作为独立科学加以研究的学术领域,却只有很短的历史。 Since the birth of education in human society, the idea of ​​“curriculum” came into being.
