广绣,指流传于广州及其古属地南海、番禺、顺德等地的民间刺绣工艺,是我国岭南刺绣——粤锈(包括广绣、潮绣)的典型代表,具有深厚的岭南文化特质、独特的艺术魅力和丰富的文化遗产价值。2006年入选国家及非物质文化遗产代表作名录和广东省民间文化遗产保护工程。作为我国四大名绣之,广绣工艺自成一家。其一,品种齐全,按刺绣线料分,主要有真丝绒绣、金银线绣、线绣和珠绣四类。真丝绒绣用蚕丝作为绣材,表现力强,是历史最悠久、技艺传承最完整的广绣品种。金银线绣的针法在刺绣业中独具特色、甚为丰富,有平绣、编绣、绕绣、凸绣、垫绣、贴花绣、织锦等7类60多种。珠绣属于广绣的新品种,最近几十年才由广绣艺人开发并逐渐运川成熟,绣材独出心裁,绣法别具匠心。其二,题材广泛,除了传统龙凤、鸟兽、花卉、人物、风景、山水、文字、器皿和瓜果图案外,古希腊女神话、美术作品甚至国际人物图像都被加以采择。其三,针法多变,能巧妙运用针法丝理表现物像的肌理;色彩丰富,注重光和影的和谐。广绣从艺术风格到创作思维都充满了岭南特色,记录了岭南文化发展的痕迹,凝聚着一代代艺人的天才智慧。
