By using the second - order center difference method in time - space domain, the second order difference scheme of wave propagation in two - dimensional inhomogeneous viscous elastic medium is derived from the differential equations of motion, the free boundary conditions and the absorbing boundary conditions on the artificial boundary. The law can easily and accurately handle the free surface, artificial boundaries and transfer level.
