The West German BMFT and the State of Berlin require the Heinrich-Hertz Institute of Communication Technology (HHI) to develop a new basic research project in the field of integrated optics. The goal of this research mission is to develop some components that handle light pulses and light rays. The range of these components is very wide: from optoelectronic devices, electro-optical devices to pure optics.
