After some time of preparation,Acta Meteorologica Sinica (AMS),with a history of more than 60 years of Chinese edition alone,now has its English edition published,too,for the sakeof strengthening the international exchange of scientific research and technological applicationsin meteorology. On this occasion,I wish to express my warm congratulations on the birth ofthis publication on behalf of the State Meteorological Administration together with all its scien-tific workers throughout the country.
