液力偶合器是利用液体(矿物油)动能来传递功率的一种动力式液力传动设备。把它安装在异步电动机和水泵或风机之间,可以在电动机转速恒定的情况下无级调节水泵或风机的转速,而且在调速过程中大量节电。它还具有空载启动电动机,可控的逐步启动大惯量风机,保护动力系统免于过载损坏,便于遥控和自动化等一系列优点。加上可靠的结构和能长期无检修使用,使得它在造船,发电,冶金,矿山,化工,纺织和其它轻工业部门中得到了愈来愈多的应用。
Hydraulic coupling is the use of liquid (mineral oil) kinetic energy to transfer power of a dynamic hydraulic transmission equipment.
