缩微技术是通过摄影的方法将原始文件上的图文信息拍照在缩微胶片上,并以胶片为载体进行信息存储、交换、阅读和管理的一种技术。记录有缩微影像的缩微胶片称缩微品。根据缩微品形式的不同可分为卷式缩微品和片式缩微品两种。卷式缩微品按胶片宽度可分为16mm,35mm,70mm和105mm四种;若按装片方式的不同,又可分为片盘式、单轴盒式、双轴盒式和片夹式等几种形式。片式缩微品的形式主要有缩微条片、缩微平片、封套式缩微片、开窗缩微卡片等几种。
