1.从1952年开始,以陆地棉(Gossypium hirsutum L.)岱字棉14号为母本,中棉(Gossypium arboreum L.)常紫1号为父本,进行种间杂交,得到杂种第一代。其后又与岱字棉及宁棉13号进行多次回交和杂交,采用连续单株选择法,于1970年育成江苏棉一号。 2.1971—1974年,江苏棉一号在江苏省的启东、太仓、睢宁、大丰等县进行多点试验,一般比岱字棉15号原种增产10—15％。小面积丰产田创造了亩产皮棉322.4斤的高产记录。江苏棉一号纤维品质优于岱字棉15号,絮色洁白,有光泽,主体长度32.7毫米,单纤维强力4.4克,断裂长度25.18千米,成熟度77.5％,成纱强力好,品质指标2,401。江苏棉一号1975年种植面积达13万亩左右。 3.对陆地棉与中棉种间杂交的不亲和性和杂种一代的不实性问题进行了研究,初步找到了克服的途径,提高了结铃率。 4.陆地棉与中棉种间杂交,再与陆地棉多次回交,并对后代进行选择,不仅可以把中棉的某些优良性状在陆地棉的遗传背景上稳定下来,同时还可以获得超亲本的性状。江苏棉一号的早熟性和裂铃吐絮等特性趋向于中棉,生长势、丰产性、高衣分等性状趋向于陆地棉,而纤维色泽、长度、强度等则是超亲本的。江苏棉一号中出现的大铃类型,铃重在8克以上,同时结铃性强、早熟、吐絮畅,这说明了大铃与结铃性、早熟性等的?
