中国和加拿大同属多民族、多文化的国家,都存在主体民族和少数民族的关系问题。如何对待少数民族,如何发展少数民族文化与教育是双方面临的共同课题。本文在已有研究成果的基础上,以中国中央民族大学和加拿大第一民族大学为个案,在回顾两国少数民族高等教育历史的基础上,从这两所民族大学的建立来比较中加两国少数民族高等教育发展模式的异同,在鉴别这些类同和差异的基础上进一步探讨其背景及其影响因素,从而为新世纪世界土著民及少数民族高等教育比较研究开辟新的领域。
China and Canada both belong to the multi-ethnic and multicultural countries, and all have the issue of the relationship between the main ethnic group and the ethnic minorities. How to treat ethnic minorities and how to develop ethnic cultures and education are common issues both sides face. Based on the existing research results, taking China’s Central University for Nationalities and Canada’s First National University as a case, this paper reviews the history of higher education of ethnic minorities in both countries and compares the two universities in China and Canada Based on the identification of these similarities and differences, this paper further explores its background and its influencing factors so as to open up new fields for the comparative study of higher education for indigenous peoples and ethnic minorities in the world in the new century.
