The 21st century is the century of the oceans. Four major marine pillar industries in the world - the offshore oil industry, the coastal tourism industry, the modern marine fishery and the maritime transportation industry, have been formed and will continue to be the new growth point of the global economy. The sea area of our province is nearly 420,000 square kilometers, which is more than twice the land area of the province. In the past 10 years, the total marine economy has continued its rapid growth. In 2012, its marine product value has exceeded the one trillion yuan mark.
