Jiang Zuo-guo, a Chinese painter living in the United States, devoted himself to drawing and painting, striving to get out of the way of modernizing Chinese painting and nationalizing oil painting. After settling in the United States in the 1990s, he deepened his comprehension of the laws of Chinese and Western art under the conditions of special life and creation and shaped his writing in his own practice. The works collected in this collection are the gifts that Jiang will dedicate to the audience at the exhibition of returning art in the near future. It is the crystallization of his years of academic exploration. As a friend who has known for many years, I would like to take this opportunity to talk about my understanding of Mr. Jiang’s work.
