作者认为耳带状疱疹由病毒引起。这种病毒的外形和大小与水痘病毒相同。儿童若与成年人的带状疱疹接触,随后即可发生水痘;反之与水痘患者接触,则较少发生带状疱疹。因此可以认为带状疱疹的发病,乃成年人以前曾罹患水痘病毒的感染而使静止的病毒再度活跃起来所产生。静止的病毒位于局部淋巴结内,可能由于外伤后免疫力下降、局部疾病和某些药物导致病毒再度活跃,总之可以推测,在适合的条件下,从前被置于次临床感染情况下的病毒可以同时发生水痘和带状疱疹。病例报告:
