前言石英光纤维有两个极重要的光学特性:一是传输损耗,二是色散(脉冲展宽)。如果纤维的损耗低,表明光纤在通信系统中的中继距离可以较长。色散小,就意味着传输带宽可以较宽,通信容量大。这两个指标对整个光纤传输系统的技术要求和经济价值都有重大的影响。本文分析和讨论了从可见光到近红外光波段中引起石英光纤维损耗和色散的原因,分析了一些参数之间的量的关系。这有助于在制造纤维时,选择合适的工艺,设计光纤通信系统时,考虑一些因数,以选用纤维的最佳工作状态。最后讨论了用长波长石英光纤进行光传输通信的优越性。
Introduction There are two very important optical properties of quartz optical fibers: one is transmission loss and the other is dispersion (pulse stretching). If the loss of fiber is low, it indicates that the fiber can be relayed longer in the communication system. Dispersion is small, it means the transmission bandwidth can be wider, communication capacity. These two indicators have a significant impact on the technical requirements and economic value of the entire optical fiber transmission system. This paper analyzes and discusses the causes of loss and dispersion of silica optical fiber from visible light to near infrared light, and analyzes the relationship between the quantities of some parameters. This helps in the manufacture of fiber, select the appropriate process, the design of optical fiber communication system, consider a number of factors to choose the best fiber working condition. Finally, the superiority of optical transmission using long-wavelength quartz fiber is discussed.
