唐诗无疑是中国文学的瑰宝,诗歌的创作水平在唐代达到了顶峰。在中国文学、文化的译介史上,唐诗无疑是最受重视的。从19世纪初至今,大量的汉学家以不同的形式翻译和推介唐诗,对唐诗在英语世界的传播作出了卓绝的贡献。在这些汉学家中,较为著名的有马礼逊、理雅各、帕克(庄延龄)、翟里斯、戴维斯等人。而本文的研究对象——弗莱彻却没有得到应有的重视,对其唐诗英译的研究非常少。吕叔湘等
Tang poetry is undoubtedly the treasure of Chinese literature, and the creative level of poetry peaked in Tang Dynasty. In the history of the translation and introduction of Chinese literature and culture, Tang poetry is undoubtedly the most important. Since the early 19th century, a large number of sinologists have translated and promoted Tang poems in different forms and made remarkable contributions to the spread of Tang poetry in the English-speaking world.
