21岁进了中国女排陈忠和的名字是和中国女排连在一起的。打1979年到现在,由陪练到副教练,陈忠和已辅佐了“五位六任”主教练。陈忠和1957年9月8日出生在福建省龙海市的一个“排球之家”。1974年,年仅17岁的陈忠和被选入福建青年男排。他技术全面,反应快,弹跳好,1977年被调至戴廷斌执教的福建男排。 1979年一个偶然机会,使他与中国女排结下了不解之缘。时任中国女排主教练的袁伟民为提高中国女排的训练质量,决定在福建找一个男陪练,并请戴廷斌推荐。戴廷斌经过反复考虑,认为21岁的陈忠和在身高、技术、思想品质等方面都很适合出任中国女排陪练。
