吞咽障碍是临床常见的症状群.近年来,随着人寿命的延长、外伤的增加以及咽喉部插管的增多,吞咽障碍的发生率明显增加.由于引起吞咽障碍的病因较多,而且涉及的科室(五官科、口腔科、消化科、呼吸科、神经科、老年科、放射科等)较多,所以吞咽障碍的诊断和治疗较为困难.国外自1980年代中期开始此项研究,由于该症涉及人数多(约占美国养老院人数的50%),后果严重(美国每年因该症噎呛致死者约1万人),已引起西方国家的高度重视,成立世界性吞咽障碍研究会、出版专业杂志《Dysphagia》、各国都有自己的国家级吞咽障碍研究中心,吞咽障碍已成为现代医学研究的一个新热点.而我国对吞咽障碍进行系统研究的单位较少,上海交通大学附属第六人民医院的两位专家自1990年代初期开展此项研究,取得丰硕的成果,现把他们的研究和认识介绍给大家,希望引起更多的有识之士共同参与,以推动我国吞咽障碍的深入研究,造福于民.
