艺术作品能够映射出创作者的心路历程，体现创作者的知识结构、文化修养以及民族的、社会的、时代的印迹。本文从中华民族的思维特征溯源；从宋代佛教的转型谈起；从宋代社会意识形态展开；以宋代文化历史、民族背景进行分析，探寻大足石刻创作的思维倾向，思考这一创作思维倾向的优劣，以及对当代雕塑艺术的影响。
