The major western powers, the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan, showed different attitudes toward the reform of the currency system of the Chinese government in 1935 because of their respective interests: the U.S. government’s currency reform policy toward China has undergone a “non-intervention” Negative attitudes toward a “positive attitude” towards “disguised” support. The British government has shown active intervention and strong support for China’s currency reform. Japan’s currency reform toward China is full of resistance and destruction. In essence, it reflects the increasingly superficial and sharp contradictions between the major powers such as Britain and the United States and Japan on the issue of China. It also reflects the intention of the Chinese national government to use the external force of the West to push China’s economy toward the process of modernization so as to stabilize the aspirations of the Kuomintang government for the country’s rule.
