As DNA recombination technology has evolved, several new approaches to vaccine production and several models for viral diseases such as hepatitis B, influenza, foot-and-mouth disease, or poliomyelitis have recently been established. Because there is no cell culture system that breeds Hepatitis B virus (HBV), the free virus capsid in the plasma of chronic carriers becomes the only source of material currently available for vaccine preparation. Because of the limited availability of this vaccine, genetic engineering seems particularly useful for developing new methods of preparing vaccines. The purpose of this report is to propose various methods provided by DNA recombination technology.
