1946—1947年,赵树理小说传播到解放区之外,但国统区对赵树理小说的最初评论,与解放区的评论是不完全同步的。郭沫若评价的着眼点主要在借之证明创作自由在解放区的实现;茅盾则依据其现实主义理想突出其对解放区阶级斗争温和性的反映;邵荃麟、朱自清等人坚持文艺标准,对其的赞扬中又有批评;而一向活跃的胡风选择沉默,沈从文的片言只语却透露出一种别样理解。这一切,都从不同侧面,突出了不同评论者对中国文学“现代性”的不同理解。
