The world natural gas synthetic oil (GTL) project is steadily developing. Three U.S. mid-sized GTL plants are under construction; Rentech’s 36 kt / a GTL plant in Coms City will start in 2002; BP’s near-end 13.5 kt / a GTL plant in Nikitsky, Alaska, Well, the expansion plans to invest 500 million U.S. dollars to build 3,600 kt / a industrial units; the mainland (Knokke) company invests 75 million U.S. dollars in a 18 kt / a GTL medium-sized verification unit in Ponca City in February 2003 . Shell International Gas Company will build 7 GTL installations around the world at locations including Qatar, Argentina, Australia and Egypt
