乔姆斯基的控制理论是生成语法理论的一个重要子理论。控制理论的提出对解释英语控制结构中PRO的分布和释义是一个重大突破。基于大量英、汉语控制事实对乔氏控制理论在英、语控制结构中的解释力进行验证,得出:乔氏控制理论只能解释部分英、汉语控制结构,对有些控制现象不能进行统一的解释。该理论的解释力存在明显的不足,缺乏解释的充分性和普遍性。
Chomsky’s control theory is an important sub-theory of grammatical theory. The introduction of control theory is a major breakthrough in explaining the distribution and interpretation of PRO in English control structures. Based on a large number of English and Chinese control facts, this paper verifies the explanatory power of Qiao’s control theory in the English and Chinese control structures. It concludes that Qiao’s control theory can only explain part of the English and Chinese control structures, and can not unify some control phenomena Explanation. The explanatory power of the theory there is a clear lack of adequacy and universality of the explanation.
