In our commodity era today, “discounting” is a frequently used vocabulary. And there is no such lexicon. The exact wording in the dictionary is “to discount”. It shows two meanings: The first is to reduce the price of goods for sale. The second is that the metaphor is not completely regulated, acknowledged, or promised. For commodities entering circulation, the precise vocabulary should be “discount.” That is, when the goods are bought and sold, a certain number of them are subtracted from the list price, and the tenth of the original price is called a discount. Therefore, “discounting” is an abbreviation and is a non-standard usage. However, it has already been adopted and it has been widely used in today’s China.
