Lead is a heavy metal, which is closely linked with industrial production and people’s life. In industrial processes, most of the lead enters the body through the respiratory tract. In daily life, lead is mainly absorbed through the digestive tract. Regardless of the way lead enters the body, macrophages are always first exposed to lead and cleared. During the lead removal process, macrophages are damaged due to the toxic effects of lead. In addition, following macrophage injury, substances released by cells can also cause damage to the surrounding tissues, so the damage of lead to macrophages will inevitably bring adverse effects to the body.
