在如今纷繁昌盛的年代,茶馆已不是过去单独为饮茶而设。各种茶馆的主人,为更好地经营所拥有的一席之地,从装饰装修到品茶器皿,各显风格、独具魅力。装饰装修风格的迥异,已形成体现社会四方文化的一个窗口和缩影,也从一个侧面折射出一个国家或一个地区的地域文化与民族文化。茶馆文化是茶文化的一个组成部分。由于每个地区的文化背景不同,各地区涌现出具有不同文化特征的茶馆,遍及大江南北。如四川茶馆以综合效用见长;苏杭茶室以幽雅清净著称;广东茶楼主要是与饮食相结合;北京茶馆则集各地之大成,以种类繁多,文化内涵丰富为特点。茶馆的兴起并非偶然,而是有其历史根源。茶馆的最早出现,可追溯到两晋南北朝,当时出现的茶馆是专供人们喝茶歇息之用。在唐代时才正式形成茶馆,至今已有一千六、七百年历史。老北京的茶馆更是遍及京城南北,各种茶馆既有不同的装饰风格,又有浓郁现代商务功用。老北京的茶馆饮茶或许只是媒介,听评书、商务洽谈才是主要内容。北京的茶馆直接把茶与文化相联系,给人以历史知识,又达到休闲、娱乐的目的,可谓老少皆宜。
