发射的激光,6s在2cm厚的钢片上打出一个1cm的小孔。过去,这类激光打靶只有用大型气体或化学激光才能做到。由于里弗莫尔发展的新技术,这种成绩现在可以用如家用电冰箱大小的激光系统,以价值30美分的电能就可以取得。这种激光器名叫固体热容激光器(SSHCL)。此项研究成果获得2002年度“研究与发展”杂志的100项奖,列为本年度最佳技术革新产品之一。 Launched laser, 6s punched a 1cm hole in 2cm thick steel. In the past, such laser targeting was only possible with large gases or chemical lasers. Thanks to the new technology developed by Livermore, the grade can now be made with a 30-cent-worth of electricity, such as a home-sized refrigerator-size laser system. This laser is called Solid Heat Capacity Laser (SSHCL). This research achievement won 100 awards of “Research and Development” magazine in 2002, which was listed as one of the best technological innovation products of this year.
