竹笋姜始产于开县灵通乡大林村,已有百余年栽培历史。竹笋姜是当地农民在姜的长期栽培过程中,通过栽培技术的不断改革而产生的一个商品姜种。它的用途主要是供食用或少量药用,不留作种用。竹笋姜是以砣子姜通过独特的“蜂巢式”栽培方法栽培而成。开县竹笋姜近年来有较大发展,全县生姜总产已有6万余担,高产田亩产可达5,000—6,000斤,比当地砣子姜售价高30%左右,每亩纯收入600—1,000元,是有发展前途的地方特产。

In recent years, there has been a great development of bamboo shoots in Kaixian County. The total output of ginger in the county has reached 60,000 tons. The yield per mu of high-yielding fields can reach 5,000-6,000 kilograms, about 30% higher than the price of local razor clams. The net income per acre is 600- 1,000 yuan, is a promising local specialty.
