强力批杷冲剂能抑制氨水所致小鼠咳嗽反射，提高家猫的引咳阈值，促进小鼠酚红排泌；明显抑制巴豆油所致小鼠耳肿胀，减轻角叉菜胶所致大鼠的踝关节肿胀，并在不同浓度下对金葡菌等细菌有抑制作用，显示本品有较强的镇咳、祛痰、抗炎、抗菌作用。本品ｉｇ一次最大耐受量为２４ｇ／ｋｇ，取两种剂量（１．８ｇ和１０．８ｇ／ｋｇ，相当于临床量１０倍和６０倍）进行了４周给药试验，结果表明无明显毒性作用。临床用于咳嗽、支气管炎、慢性支气管炎等均获良好疗效。
