在我们民族艺术的大花园中,新歌剧是一朵年轻的花;它是在五四以来人民革命斗争和新文化运动中成长的,但新歌剧得到了比较广泛迅速的发展是在延安文艺座谈会后,在具有广泛群众性的秧歌剧运动的基础上才创造了不少优秀的剧目,如:《白毛女》、《王贵李香香》、《赤叶河》、《刘胡兰》、《小二黑结婚》、《洪湖赤卫队》、《江姐》、《刘三姐》、《红霞》、《红珊瑚》以及借鉴了西洋歌剧的表现方法创作的《草原之歌》、《阿依古丽》和新近创作的《傲蕾、一兰》等等。新歌剧对人民群众产生了很大的教育鼓舞作用,它们中间有许多歌曲广泛流传,深受广大群众的喜爱。
In the large garden of our national art, the new opera is a young flower; it grew up in the people’s revolutionary struggle and the new cultural movement since the May 4th Movement. And the newly created “proud proud, a blue” and so on. The new opera has had a great educational encouragement for the masses of the people. Many of the songs among them are widely circulated and loved by the masses.
