在论证广东外海冬季存在着一支逆风流动的海流——“南海暖流”时,我们曾经指出:南海北部在北回归线附近,冬季在100—200米层上出现了一个温度负梯度带,它与北太平洋西部相同纬度和层次上所出、现的次表层热锋——“副热带辐聚”,具有同样的热结构。并指出,正如次表层热锋与副热带逆流的关系一样,这种负梯度带的存在与南海暖流也是密不可分的。
