From 1986 to 1987, I and Masako were former friends of the University of Tokyo Law School, and we studied and lived together for one year. Normally, we often talk to another friend about the law course and talk about the prospect of our future employment. One day, we finally talked about personal marriage. Which type of man we are to be lifelong companions? Is it an artist or a writer? We talk a lot. We think all these people will adapt to the lifestyle of professional diplomats around the world engaged by Masako. Masako was very happy to hear this view.
