In the face of the two versions of Ulysses, I may not hesitate to choose Yilin version when the two are not available. It was not because of reading von that he himself had already stated that he had not read the original book, but because of the translation of the translator, one of whom was Xiao Qian, a reporter and writer who knew his name in high school. In 1946, I studied Fudan University’s journalism department Totally out of admiration for him. On the eve of liberation Guo read the macro-criticism of “red, yellow, blue and white black”. Xiao Qian was one of the writers I thought I had the most reason to be unfair. The other, his wife, She is my respectable classmate of Tsinghua University, working seriously and full of justice, Wen Jieruo, her translation of Japanese works well, the English level is above me; and the People’s Literature Edition (that is, Taiwan’s nine songs Version) Another translation of the translator Kim Di, but I never knew each other.
