  Good nutrition1 and a balanced diet will help your child keep healthy. Here are some of the best ideas to help your teen to have smart eating habits:
  Have regular family meals.
  Serve different kinds of healthy foods and snacks.
  Be a role model by eating healthy food yourself.
  Dont argue2 over food.
  However, its not easy to make these ideas work well. Here is a suggestion to help you make all these ideas work:
  Family Meals
  Family meals______________ (对家长和孩子都有好处)(1). Also, family meals help your child to taste and eat new food and find out which food he or she likes and doesnt like.
  Teens may turn up their noses at family meals(2)—because theyre trying to show their independence3. Yet we know that teens still want their parents advice, so they should use mealtime as a chance to talk with their children. Also, they should try the following suggestions:
  Allow your teen to invite a friend to dinner.
  Let your teen join in meal planning and preparation.
  Keep mealtime happy and relaxing—no lectures or arguing.
  What is a family meal? A family meal is a meal you and your family eat together—whether its take-out food or a home-cooked meal.(3) You can also set a time on weekends, when everyone in the family can meet and eat as a group.
