图符造型作为青藏高原先民最原始的一种艺术表现形式,广泛出现在藏族传统艺术及手工艺中。因其具有象征艺术最直观的形象化造型元素、简洁提炼的视觉语言而成为藏族艺术的精品,具有极高的美学价值。同时,由于图符造型具有丰富的精神内涵和意象表达的功能性特征,作为藏族文化的传播媒介之一,起着沟通传达宗教、民族文化和社会信息的作用,其符号学价值和社会学意义不可低估。
