我国关于龙的传说已经有了千年的历史,龙在中华民族是象征着图腾的意义,千百年来,龙的命运与中华民族的子子孙孙息息相关,中华大地的关于龙的传说也有上千种,单是火龙的象征形式也不下数十种,忠信镇司前村的接(一人接一人组成龙身)香火龙(客家人俗称“打(舞)香火龙”)民俗活动就有着一种与众不同的表现意义,它的香火龙的形态和制作方式以及表演形式都别具一格,从中更能看到中华民族人民的智慧和创造力和中华民族一脉相承的传统美德,同时也更能体现出中华民族数千年来积淀来的博大精深的文化内涵。
