海洋是广阔无垠的。地球上的水约有97.3%都集中在海洋里,采用取之不竭的海水制取海水冰以满足海洋渔业作业渔船的生产需要实为当务之急。近年来世界各国用海水冷却保鲜鱼货方面的发展甚快,如日本的拖网作业渔船,丹麦、挪威等国近洋作业的捕虾船等都装有用海水制冰设备直接制取海水冰供冷却保鲜鱼虾的应用。因此在研制设计海水制冰机的同时,充分了解海水冰的性质和用海水冰来保鲜鱼货的基本理论和情况的认识是十分必要的。本文着重阐述和探讨以下和海水冰及贮存密切相关的几个问题,供有关同行和使用单位讨论参考。
