上海重型机器厂(简称上重厂),属国家大型一类重点骨干企业,是国家400家“双保”企业之一。建国以来一直是机械电子工业部系统的重点骨干企业,主要设备有万吨水压机,世界最大之一的电渣重熔炉等一大批高、精、尖的设备.固定资产3.5亿元。企业职工9000余人。厂的周边地区就是有数十家合资企业的闵行经济开发区。企业内部从热加工到冷加工门类齐全,在世界机器制造行业中也不多见,主要产品有发电机组中的制粉设备及各种冷、热压力机、冶金、矿山、水泥等设备。企业出口产品销往日本、香港、菲律宾、巴基斯坦、泰国等地。
