The British writer Jonathan’s Canterbury Tales has a pivotal role in the history of British literature. And it also has its uniqueness in narrative structure. It has a unique three-layer narrative structure, which is transferred, changed and overlapped in narrative perspective. The special narrative structure makes the entire story merge into one, showing the round features throughout the structure, which is different from the ancient chapter-style novels in our country. Through such narrative perspectives and levels, the author potentially expresses his doubts and criticisms on the mainstream values such as social and religious doctrines at the time, presenting author’s wise and highly concentrated life describing the mortal beings, making the story Has a certain historical value, has its unique glory.
