提起桑树,多数人一定会想到用其叶片养蚕作茧、纺丝织绸,而另有一类作为水果供人食用的果桑却鲜为人知。其实,果桑在我国已有6000多年的利用史,有4600多年的栽培史。我国现存的几部古代文献,如《尚书》、《诗经》、《夏小正》、《礼记》、《齐民要术》等书中,都有对果桑的记载。如《诗经》“卫风”中:“于嗟鸠兮,无食桑椹”;《果雅》中有“桑瓣有椹、栀。”世界上极为珍贵的药学巨著《本草纲目》中曾有“白桑叶大如掌而厚,鸡桑叶细而薄,子桑先椹后叶,山桑叶尖而长”的描述。果桑的果实称为桑椹,是极早熟水果,从开花到采收仅需50天左右。桑椹含有葡萄糖、果糖、鞣酸、苹果酸、亚油酸、多种氨基酸、多种矿质元素、胡罗卜素、硫胺素、核黄素、抗坏血酸及路丁等多种维生素,营养丰 Mention of mulberry, most people will think of silkworm reeling with its leaves for the cocoon, spinning silk, while another kind of fruit for human consumption as a fruit is rarely known.
