凯瑟琳·曼斯菲尔德的《布里尔小姐》是一篇优秀的现代主义代表作。在故事中,曼斯菲尔德表现出精湛的叙述艺术,为读者提供多重阅读视角。曼斯菲尔德刻意用文字意象在作品中创造出一系列文字素描画,是对叙述艺术的创新。本文将从3个方面来探索文学素描在作品中的叙述功能:(1)文学作为素描;(2)文学素描与意识流的揭露;(3)文学素描对人物生存空间的建构。本研究将为探索曼斯菲尔德小说提供新的参考。
Catherine Mansfield’s “Miss Brill” is an excellent modernist masterpiece. In the story, Mansfield shows superb narrative art, providing readers with multiple reading perspectives. Mansfield deliberately uses the word image to create a series of literary sketches in his works, which is an innovation of narrating art. This article will explore the narrative function of literary sketches in the works from three aspects: (1) literature as sketch; (2) literary sketches and stream of consciousness; (3) literary sketches on the construction of the living space of characters. This study will provide a new reference for exploring Mansfield novels.
