古诗词歌曲演唱是声乐艺术中非常特别的领域,它除了需要演唱基本技艺外,还要具有诠释古典文学的艺术修养,具备儒家“中和”音乐美学思想中的“善美”境界,尤其要有“乐由心生”“隐于内而发于外”的内韵美、含蓄美。现行古诗词歌曲中有不同种类的作品,一是古代留存的词调歌曲,如《阳关三叠》《扬州慢》等,它们是古代文人音乐的杰出代表;二是古代戏曲选段及曲艺的遗存曲,如《板桥道情》《游园》等;三是依据古诗词而新作的艺术歌曲,如《念奴娇·赤壁怀古》(青主曲)《红豆词》(刘雪庵曲)等。因其古典又现代的特殊表现需要,它们在演唱上需要不同的技艺要求。尤其是后者,从近代的赵元任、黄自等作曲家致力于此以来,古诗词歌曲就备受作曲家重
