昆明至畹町的公路,是抗日战争时期有名的滇缅公路,再往西延伸到傣乡瑞丽县,就是全长903公里的昆瑞公路。它是通往目前没有铁路的滇西、滇西北、滇西南的重要公路干线。把昆瑞公路创建成文明路,不但可以改变滇西各族人民乘车难、运货难的状况,而且可以推动全省创建文明路的活动。
The road from Kunming to Wutai Town is the famous Burma Road during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and further west to Ruili County of Dai Nationality, a 903-kilometer-long Kunrui Road. It is an important road leading to West Yunnan, Northwest Yunnan and Southwest Yunnan that currently do not have railways. The establishment of the Kunlun Highway as a civilized road not only helps to change the difficult situation for people of all nationalities in Yunnan but also facilitates the creation of civilized roads throughout the province.
