The 16th informal meeting of leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) took place in Lima, Peru, from 22 to 23 November. The meeting called for all countries to open their trade doors to each other in the face of the serious global financial crisis so as to jointly cope with the financial crisis. The leaders attending the meeting said that all parties will act “promptly and decisively” to strive to overcome the financial crisis in 18 months.
