The poet Li Bai accepted in the western world is a comprehensive cultural image formed by his life experience, personality traits and poetry creation. This image is not Li Bai itself, but a kind of imagination and construction. By examining images of two famous western sinologists Arthur Welly and Stephen Owen in the 20th century, we can find that from the beginning of the 20th century to the end of the 20th century, the Western image of Li Bai experienced from early welcome worship to mid-term rationality Critical, and finally to a comprehensive understanding. Li Bai’s image of the West is the image of the recipient’s own brand, reflecting the age and culture of the recipient.
